I have gone through the journey of healing just like you. A small story....
As it turned out, not only did I not have lupus, but I also did not have food allergies. Rather, my hives were a result of inflammatory processes initiating in the gut and manifesting as hives. This was due to eating the wrong foods, which were not in harmony with my constitution and nutrigenomic, and eating them in the wrong combinations.
I started first by eliminating the foods that were triggers, such as dressings, nuts, alcohol (which I only had occasionally and socially), sweets, desserts, and even “healthy” juices such as cranberry, grape, and lemonade. At the same time, I started to eat right for my blood type, which is A+, by eliminating meat. I also put myself through a weekend of cleansing when I only had homemade vegetable juices, and a full week of another form of detox that I still prescribe to my patients with a very high rate of success.
 The detox process, which was a big component, also included using a sauna regimen. Before long, I was cleared of the so-called food allergies and hives.Â
How I helped my patient achieve her health goal...
Let me share a case study with you, the story of a fifty-year-old female patient of mine who was 40 pounds overweight. She had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and had high cholesterol. She was on cholesterol medication, and she came to see if I could treat her diabetes and high cholesterol naturally.
 I started her on a six-month program, did the functional medicine blood test, and put her on a specific diet with menus and recipes. I also gave her a daily routine, an exercise regimen, and cleansing regimen. She was given supplements, herbs, and vitamins based on her blood analysis and her individual constitution.

 In a study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, subjects’ moods and anxieties were observed after practicing yoga for twelve weeks and compared to walking to see the way these two interventions affect the chemistry of the brain. The study concluded that twelve weeks of yoga intervention was associated with greater improvements in mood and anxiety than walking. This study demonstrated that increased thalamic GABA (a brain neurotransmitter) levels are associated with improved mood and decreased anxiety and that practicing yoga postures was also associated with an increase in thalamic GABA levels and improvements in mood and anxiety.
